All children love to wear badges and badge making has long been firmly established in schools as a means of delivering Design and Technology as well as being used for fundraising activities. With the development of new technology and miniaturisation, it is now possible to integrate control technology into the badge and make them even more exciting!

The DACTA Viso range has been developed in partnership with London Emblem plc the UK’s leading supplier of quality badge making products and the range can be used with any 55mm London Emblem badge making machine. There is a focus on “hands-on” learning and problem solving with the D&T and ICT components having inbuilt differentiation and degrees of difficulty.

Viso Flash is the entry product in the Viso assortment and provides all the components necessary for the children to build badges containing two flashing LEDs. These LEDs can be positioned creatively on the badge to enhance any new or existing design.

Viso Controlite is a more advanced product which challenges children to build a badge integrating 3 pairs of LEDs and an LDR, further challenging their creativity and design skills. The lights can then be programmed using downloadable software available from www.rev-ed.co.uk/software/bas805.exe and then downloaded via cable, to light up in a planned sequence.

Students are supported through a downloadable activity book and fact sheet.
